Automatic Digital Refractometer
Refractometer
RFM340
The RFM 340 automatic digital refractometer offer the
latest in simplicity of operation, accuracy, reliable performance, versatility
and durability.
The instrument encompasses the following scales :
-
sugar % (Brix)
-
refractive index
-
5 user defined scales where is possible create personalised scales or insert
the following scales:
Each scale has varying degrees of precision, with a maximum of +/-
0,03% for the scale Brix, e +/- 0,00004 for refractive index.
Temperature compensation available on all scales from 5°C
to 60°C.
The instruments have no moving parts - solid state technology.
External power supply unit for safety in location of instrument
and prevention of heat built-up in instrument.
Border line quality, is an arbitrary number used to define the
"worth" of a reading. This indicates to the user how well defined the borderline
is and hence the reliability of the reading
Large reading display for indication of sample measurement
Artificial sapphire prism in stainless steel sample dish.
Wide range of accessories as "flow cells", waterbaths, printers
and computer can be connected to the instrument.
The sample presser will improve measurement accuracy and repeatability
by:
-
Forcing the sample into intimate contact with the prism surface. This is
particularly important with viscous, high concentration samples.
-
Providing an "enclosed" environment for the sample so minimising contact
with the air and limiting evaporation.
-
Preventing strong ambient light from affecting the reading quality.
Password system at two levels allowing only authorised staff to
enter the instrument menu.
A delay before reading can be utilised for the stabilisation
of particular samples.
Data Management Software Features
-
A real time clock to enable printing of date and time.
-
Batch number assignment and printing.
- "Quality Blanking", The instrument can be set to display nothing when the borderline quality falls below a pre-set threshold
-
Operator identification on printout.
-
24 or 40 column printing.
-
Printing of instrument calibration status: serial number, date of last
zero/span setting.
-
Five reading mode: takes five readings and print results with optional statistical summary.
-
Multi-reading mode. User pre-sets number of reading to be taken.
-
Statistical summary printed for multi-reading: Min, Max, Mean, Spread and
Std Dev.

RFM700
Refractometer
The RFM700 refractometers are a new, low cost, fully automatic
digital instruments designed primarily for use as a dedicated quality control
instrument in a variety of application in the food industry.
Designed with ultimate simplicity in mind, the RFM700 is intended
for use in a "single mode" with a standard Sugar % (Brix) scale: RFM730
- 0-95% and RFM710 - 0-50%.
The instrument may be operated in ambient temperatures ranging from
5°C to 40°C but all reading are temperature compensated to 20°C.
Operation cannot be simpler with only three press button controls for
reading, calibration and temperature of the prism.
